Table of Contents
Overview
What are the file type, size and length limits for PDF Stories?
Only PDF files are supported. PDFs can be up to 100 MB and contain a maximum of 300 pages. Other document types are not supported at this time.
Can I share a PDF Story to networks other than LinkedIn?
No. PDF sharing is currently exclusive to LinkedIn, which natively supports this type of document post. Other network options are disabled when a PDF story is selected.
Will PDF Stories appear in my Advocacy reports?
Yes. All reports that list stories have been updated to include and track PDF as a distinct story type.
Can I create an internal-only PDF Story?
Yes. Admins can set a PDF story as an internal, read-only resource. Readers can view it in Advocacy, but it is not shared to LinkedIn.
Can readers view PDF Stories on mobile?
Yes. Readers can view the full PDF on the Advocacy web interface and in the Advocacy mobile app.
How does a sent PDF post appear in Sprout's post activity?
Sprout currently shows a placeholder image for sent PDF posts rather than a full preview. In Advocacy, the post text is visible. We're working on making it clearer that a PDF is attached even when a visual preview isn't available in the activity log.
Why do reshared LinkedIn PDF posts show a placeholder thumbnail?
Reshares of LinkedIn PDF posts, such as those from the Compose integration, show a placeholder thumbnail. This is due to limitations in what Sprout can ingest for document posts through the LinkedIn API.
